SK8- THE INFINITY REVIEW

Sport is one of my favorite genres and there is no doubt that we have some great Sport Animes in this genre. When I first watched the trailer of “SK8 The Infinity” Anime, I was 100% sure that this anime I can’t miss out because it’s based on skateboarding, plus Studio Bones is animating this anime and this studio is one of my favorite studios.

So in this blog, I’m gonna share my experience after watching this anime and you can say that this blog is a kind of a review of “SK8 The Infinity” Anime.

There are lots of things to talk about in this anime and I feel that this anime has entertained us but yet missed something very important.

SYNOPSIS-

High school student Reki Kyan is passionate about one thing: skateboarding. When night falls, he heads to “S,” an illegal underground race inside a mine where skaters compete in highly dangerous situations. After a loss that results in his skateboard being destroyed and his arm being broken, Reki is now incapable of practicing at all.

While working, Reki runs into his new classmate, Langa Hasegawa, a half-Canadian and half-Japanese boy with no skateboarding experience whatsoever. Langa is in desperate need of money. After they both visit “S” when tasked by Reki’s boss, they get into trouble and are forced into a bet that requires Langa to skate in a race. However, the mysterious transfer student holds a trump card that Reki is unaware of, one which might help him win the race in the most unexpected way.

GOOD POINTS-

After watching all the episodes of this anime the one thing that amazed me a lot is Animation. I know Studio Bones is always good with their animation but this anime has offered us some greatly animated sequences, that I can’t forget in my lifetime. Throughout the series, I just keep praising the animation because this anime has shown us some great visuals and top-quality skate racing battles.

Studio Bones again proved that why they are best at their work.

Another thing that I wanna talk about is the skate battles or “BEEF” that happened in this anime. As an audience, I can say that I enjoyed every beef in this anime. Every skate battle has offered us something new, something amazing and for this I want to appreciate the whole creative team behind this anime.

We also should keep in mind that this is an original anime and being an original anime this anime has impressed me a lot.

I also liked the whole plot setting. An illegal underground race inside a mine where every skater gathers together to enjoy the sport they love so much by doing beef and showcasing their skills. It’s something that I admire in every sports anime and this anime forced me to try out skateboarding which I will do in the future.

CRITICISM-

To be frank there are few things that I didn’t like in this anime.

I somehow felt that the main characters are not very much impressive as there are few situations in this anime where they seemed directionless which bothered me while watching this anime.

Also, the first half of the episodes (Ep.1-Ep.6) of this anime are very interesting and engaging but 2nd half of the episodes (Ep.7-Ep.12) lose their charm and I felt bored in few scenes.

This anime has brilliantly covered fun and enjoyable part but it failed to cover the emotional or sad part of the anime and I somehow felt that every emotional scene in this anime are made-up and it failed to connect with me.

In terms of character development, we get to see the character development of Reki and Langa and their development was pretty decent but again the 2nd half lack some pacing in their development which made me a little disappointed at that time.

So, overall I will say that “SK8 The Infinity” anime is pretty good anime with great animation and awesomely animated racing sequences and the last beef is one of my favorite racing sequences as there we get to see some amazing moves and skills by Langa and Adams.

And if I have to rate this anime then I will rate it 7/10, which is a pretty good rating in my opinion.

So if you haven’t watched this anime then do give it a try for its animation and skating sequence.
